An abandoned building in south east Colorado. The scene reminded me of the history of this area. Throughout the 1930s, eastern Colorado along with the majority of the Southern Plains states, experienced extreme droughts. Baca County was among the areas hardest hit, near the center of what was named the Dust Bowl. The clouds in this scene almost look like a dust storm. I can barely fathom just how horrific it was for the people living there during this time.
Thank you for considering my photography. My interest in photography began at a very young age, with a manual film camera. I converted to a digital when I was sure the technology could match that of the film camera. I have a passion for photographing people, places and things. I actively work at improving my craft by participating in photography classes and workshops. I specialize in artistic photography. I enjoy capturing nature in all its glory. I consider myself a curious, quiet observer of everything around me. All people, places and things are beautiful subjects. I strive to bring out that beauty in all my photographs.
